AI automation builds

Hire an engineer to build your AI automation

You can hire us to build AI automation for your business at a fixed price. Each system runs $5,000 to $15,000, scoped in writing before work starts, and built on accounts you own, so everything keeps working even if we part ways. We are a one-person firm in Charleston, South Carolina, run by a licensed professional engineer, and we bring that discipline to every build.

What we build

We build one system at a time, scoped in writing before any work starts. Each build is priced between $5,000 and $15,000 depending on how many moving parts it has, and the price does not move once we agree on it.

The systems that come up most often:

  • Quoting, so an inbound request becomes a drafted quote waiting for a human to approve
  • Follow-up, so no lead or open invoice sits silent because someone got busy
  • Reporting, so the numbers you check every Monday assemble themselves
  • Pipeline hygiene, so your CRM reflects reality without anyone nagging
  • Content operations, so drafts, posts, and updates keep moving on a schedule
  • Back-office paperwork, so intake forms, invoices, and routine documents stop eating afternoons

Why fixed price beats hourly

Hourly billing puts the risk on you. If the build takes longer than expected, you pay for the overrun, and the person billing has no particular reason to hurry. A fixed price flips that. We name the number up front, and slow work becomes our problem instead of yours.

Fixed scope matters just as much as fixed price. Before we write anything, you get a written description of what the system will do, what it will not do, and what done looks like. You can hold us to it.

That habit comes from engineering, not agency work. Jake O'Donnell is a licensed professional engineer who built and operated industrial gas systems, including a commercial CO2 recovery plant. Scope documents and acceptance checks are how that world runs, and we kept the habit.

Everything runs on accounts you own

Every build runs on your accounts, your keys, and your data. We do not host your automation on our infrastructure and rent it back to you. If you stop working with us, everything stays yours and keeps working.

AI usage costs pass through at cost, with no markup. The bills are yours, so you see exactly what the system costs to run, and no part of our income depends on hiding that from you.

After the build

Every system we build can hand off into managed operations at $1,500 to $2,000 per month, month to month, no long-term contract. That covers logging and validating every run against checks specific to your business, a plain-English monthly report of what the AI actually did, and one new automation or visible improvement each month.

You can also just take the keys. Because everything lives on your accounts, running it yourself is a real option, not a threat we hold over you.

We run our own operation the same way we would run yours. The founder's personal automation fleet, started in February 2026, runs 70 scheduled jobs with more than 10,000 logged runs, and its failure rate came down from 23.7% in May 2026 to 2.0% in June 2026. The telemetry is published publicly, because watching every run is what keeps automation honest.

Questions we hear

How much does it cost to hire someone to build AI automation?

Our builds run $5,000 to $15,000 per system, fixed scope and fixed price, agreed in writing before work starts. Industrial and plant engagements are different animals and get quoted individually.

What if I don't know what to automate yet?

Start with the AI Ops Audit. It costs $2,500 flat, takes about two weeks, and delivers a written map of your automatable work with the time savings put in dollars, plus one quick win implemented before the report lands. The first three clients pay $1,000 because we are building our public case-study bench.

Who owns the automation after you build it?

You do. The accounts, the keys, the data, and everything we built are yours. If you leave, it all stays with you and keeps working. AI usage costs pass through at cost, with no markup.

Who maintains the system after launch?

Your choice. Managed operations runs $1,500 to $2,000 per month, month to month, with every run logged and validated against business-specific checks, a plain-English monthly report, and one new automation or visible improvement included each month. Or run it yourself, since everything is on your accounts.

Do you work on-site, or is everything remote?

Both. We are based in Charleston, South Carolina and serve South Carolina and the Southeast, with on-site work available when it helps. We are a one-person firm, so you always work directly with the engineer doing the building.

Not sure what to build first?

Send us the most repetitive thing your team did this week and we will tell you straight whether it is worth automating, no charge for the opinion. If you want the full picture, the AI Ops Audit maps everything, and the first three clients pay $1,000 because we are building our public case-study bench.
